In these three chapter from Genesis, God shows how he is the all mighty ruler who created and will create everything. In the first chapter it tells the days in which what thing was made, and that on the seventh day God rested. Having read the bible throughout childhood and now, the number seven occurs a lot in the bible. Is this a number of significance? Also in my bible the word firmament is said a lot. I dont really know what this means but I can guess it means the heavens or "place above the skies"? Something I didnt know was that god created darkness out of good or light. I always thought darkness was a bad thing. I believe God has a purpose for everything and even though we may not understand it, its for the best in Gods big plan. In chapter two the Bible talks about the garden and the rules God set forth to adam and eve. As a child I was told God knows everything in the past present and future. Sometimes people ask if God knows everything then why did he let adam and eve sin. I believe he did this to show human kind that if you go against God then you will suffer the consiquences. Even though God is a Fearful God, he is also a loving God and wants the best for all of his children. Also I think its intersting that woman was made from man. The last thing is I dont understand why God let evil into the garden. I guess it all goes back to the thing about Gods Big Plan for man and this world we call home.

Like Tucker I to grew up in the church so I have been exposed to the scripture from a young age as well. I absolutely agree with you in your belief that God is the Creator and Ruler of all. I have also noticed and heard people talk about the number seven used a lot in scripture but like you I don't know the significance of it, or even if it is significance at all. I also agree that God is omniscient and exists out side of time. I also believe that God is sovereign and knows what is to happen before it happens. That is where there is controversy in the existence of man because God very well knew that we would fall short and sin. Also as a result of that there would be death, disease, and injustice to enter the world. To answer this question to myself and others I say that God is God. He is the creator of all and he loves me with a relentless passion. The reason why I can trust God is because of the way he has pursued me presently and will pursue me in the future. I have faith in God because of the character he has displayed all throughout the time.
Reader Response "Marionette Theatre"
I found this story very hard to read and uderstand. I dont know if its because im not that smart or this author is just trying to be a douche. To be honest I find puppets stupid and a waste of time, not to mention out right scary. I find it odd that they made the servants dance. Youd think theyd be the worst dancers. This is just my opinion. I will say about the puppets are it is really cool how they work. All of those strings working together. Not to mention dancing along with the song. The old friend this guy meets seems to be a odd fellow. I think its cool that you dont have to know how to dance to control the puppets. This might not be a bad hobby after all. At the part where the guy randomly laughs at his old friend makes me wonder if he is making fun of the old friend. He does seem like a shady person. It is true thogh that the marionette is a wierd one. This guy is really into these puppets. I feel like von Kleist learned alot about the spirit of the marionette.

First off I say I apologize for doing this a day late. Honestly I just forgot about it. Like Tucker I to had a very difficult time understanding the author and even what the purpose of the story is. However from discussing the story in class I did gain a lot of insight into the story. To be honest I was truly amazed at how much thought and intricate ideas are behind the story. I'm not saying I agree with everything that the writer was saying, but it did truly open my mind to a lot of ideas and thoughts. What Tucker is saying as the writer being into the puppets I think is just a clever way of using them to symboloze a much deeper theme. I do however agree with Tucker acknowleding that the writer was inspired by the puppets.
Once again I apologize for responding a day late.

First id like to start by saying that I think its intersting that milton put a agrument infront of everybook. Im glad he did because i feel like this will help me understand the whole meaning of what the author is trying to get across. I think its weird that milton seperates mans disobedience and the fruit of the tree. I dont believe this at all. Mans first sin is when they took of the fruit. There wasnt any sin before that so I dont know how the author can seperate such an important thing like that. What does he mean when he says the earth rose out of chaos? Didnt God make everything out of good? This too is something I am confused about. I like the description milton gives when God is throwing satan, who was once an angel, out of heaven. Even though I dont understand most of the words it still sounds like he has his facts straight. What does milton mean when he says Gods wrath shall never leave me? I agree when he says to weak is to be miserable. Not sure what he means by it but its stilla good saying. I might tweet that. I like how he talks about the lake of fire. This is good because the bible has to say aout it too. Im not sure where milton stands with how people get cast to eternal damnation in the lake of fire. Id lke to find out though.

I do find it interesting that Milton puts an argument in front of every book. I didn't catch it at first but I defiantly see what you are saying. I also don't understand why milton seperates the fruit of the tree and mans sin. I think that he may be trying to say that in the creation of fruit God has already predestined man to sin so Milton doesn't blame man for it. Rather he blames God himself. Like you I don't agree with this all the way.

I think its cool how the word HIGH is capitalized. It shows it significant. I wonder if satan knew that no matter what he couldnt defeat God. I mean this is what every Christian is taught so i see it hard for this too happen. It does show how commited satan is at gaining the throne in heaven. You see this by him saying he wants the deities, power, and domination. All of this could be had if he took the heavenly throne. I like how it says moloch is stronger because of his despair. You see many cases like this in our world. It wasnt a shock when moloch says he wants war. You expect the strongest to wage war. So I guess they are going to surprise attack?? This is Ironic because God knows everything. Dont you think he'll know they are coming? Its interesting that a demon from hell called the angels in heaven fugitives. this is really ironic. If anything they are the fugitives. Why do they think God is the torturer? God did right by throwing them out. I guess they have to think this way, they do really hate God. Now they are taking time to plan out their attack. they say that there are armed angels on the towers. When it says armed, with what? I think God is all the arms they will need. Over all I think satan has too much pride. Its stupid for any creature to believe they can disthrone heaven.

I do think satan knew that he couldn't defeate God. He is not at all unaware of the power of God. Instead satan has taken a mission of trying to undo all of the good that God is causing to happen. In satan's pride he doesn't heed to the advice Beezulbe gives him about in trying to do evil, God is just going to turn that around so that he can recieve the glory. satan is just in a blind state of rage and will not heed to the good advice, I compare him to a dog who is despearatly chasing after a ball. I do agree with you Tucker on saying that satan is a stupid creature because it believes it can cause havoc on a all powerful and all knowing God. What I did find interesting is that fact that they appear to be some what in a democratic state (that is all of the demons), even though satan is in fact manipulating them into his own plan. In reality satan is a very sly and clever being.

For some reason I think eve is king of childish in a sense. Like someone should always be there to hold her hand and make sure she dosent do anything stupid. Does she not listen to adam? It seems like she just does her own thing like every other woman. I picture eves eyes lighting up when adam says they have free will. like she already want to disobey or something. its not shocking at all that satan is a masterful liar. when he brought eve to the tree i think he knew it would be easy for her to decieve god. After they sin, I think they now believe nude is shameful due to their sin. If i saw the angel michael coming to me, id be scared out of my mind. I think because they tasted evil, good to them now would just be another thing. almost like they want to taste evil just as much as good. What a depressing feelingf that was when they were taken out of paradise by michael.
